Re: Stadium survey
you know they'll only release the positive results from the survey. ie) if only 10% say poor, then the results will be "90% of the fanbase are happy with the stadium!"

Re: Stadium survey
They frigged up the most succefully stadium migration in history

We should be sitting with mainly the same people around us, at the Chelsea game I was surrounded by tourists the "regulars" just don't show much anymore

Talking to a Spurs STH they are moving STH mass on block to Wembley to keep them all together, no news on the new stadium migration yet though

Re: Stadium survey
With Obiang and Kouyate both being critical of the cuntbowl i wonder if its actually going to have the effect of putting players off coming as opposed to climbing over each other to get there! 100% agree with ornchurch its benifited nobody bar the 3 stooges.

Re: Stadium survey
The ONLY beneficiaries from this stadium move are Sullivan, Gold and Brady.

Has the club benefitted?
Has the team benefitted?
Have the supporters benefitted?

Arguably No in my opinion.

13: I think that's the problem, they can't see anything wrong with what it's like over there. They say they are listening to the fans, so far we have a few shelves and a couple of people with West Ham knowledge with pink bibs on a matchday.

Still think the place has potential to be superb but I'm not sure they give a fuck.

Re: Stadium survey
Fwiw....I keep seeing comments about media bias regarding the move, and I'm never sure what people are referring to. Maybe in the NEWS section?

After the first game against Domzale ALL the sports journalists were on message about how good it is. Likewise the TV sports media for the first televised game.

Subsequently, there has been some negative reporting....only the most paranoid of minds would believe it's because of 'bias'

Johnson 8:25 Mon Mar 13
Re: Stadium survey
Yes.

First you say we need to improve those things or it will drive the already bias media criticism, but when I point out a load of things the media could be commenting on you ask why would they as no one cares outside of WHUFC.

How successful we make the ground in terms of a home wouldn't be news worthy either then would it, as surely by your answer to me that should also fall in to the no one cares outside of WHUFC bracket.

In fact, if the media were bias as you falsely claim us making it a success would more likely drive more criticism given this apparent bias, as that's kind of what bias means.

Re: Stadium survey
These two lines?

Given the media bias against the move, we have perhaps a season more to fix that before we become a laughing stock. I well remember going to Arsenal away a couple of seasons ago and being amazed at how their crowd were sitting silent whilst our fans just yards away were singing all game.

You realise that post directly contradicts the first couple of lines of the last paragraph in your big post don't you?

Re: Stadium survey
I'm not really sure what we're disagreeing on.

We both agree about what the board are doing.

We both agree we don't want that.

The only point of contention seems to be that when I say 'media bias' I mean articles saying West Ham got an unbelievable deal at the expense of the tax payer and so on, whereas you seem to think they ought to be publishing articles about how awful the board are? They're never going to do that, because no one outside West Ham fans gives a shit about it. What sells papers is outrage at our attempted usurpation of the established order. Not that it's doing us much good at the moment.

Johnson 12:40 Mon Mar 13
Re: Stadium survey
But that's who the stadium is pitched at, tnb.

That's why the board DELIBERATELY placed people from upper tiers behind people from lower tiers thus causing seaters vs standers issues, shouty sweary types vs the more reserved, no family stand as the whole stadium is supposedly family friendly (quote Brady), why the moved block 114 because they interacted the away fans to their right.

None of that was designed to preserve the culture and atmosphere of Upton Park, it was designed to remove it in favour of a more sanitised setup.

Changing the badge to include London wasn't designed with the history of West Ham in mind, it was done to market the club to tourists.

If you consider what the board have done;

Changed the badge
Sold the home
Moved the club
Carved up the fan base
Oversold promises and undelivered on them
Not really reduced prices for the majority (Bands 1 and 2)

All without real consultation with the fans I think if there was this media bias as you said then all of this would come up time and again.

To date I have not seen a single article criticising the board, if anything articles have dug out the fans for not conforming to what's expected of them.

The reaction to the Chelsea game was to blame fans and not question whether the stadium was fit for football crowd management and whether the surroundings of the Olympic Park make policing outside the ground that much harder.

There may well be scrutiny around the deal, which actually is right as public money is at play but to suggest there's bias in the media is ridiculous.

tnb 12:21 Mon Mar 13
Re: Stadium survey
And no, the media don't create the atmosphere. But they will capitalise on it. And I for one don't want to see headlines saying 'West Ham fans are a bunch of passionless tourists'.

tnb 12:18 Mon Mar 13
Re: Stadium survey
Johnson,

No I am saying there is a massive media bias. We have only seen the shots across the bow so far. We have short period to make this move work, on and off the pitch and whether we wanted it or not. The knives are already sharp.

Johnson 11:50 Sun Mar 12
Re: Stadium survey
Right, so you're agreeing with me there is no media bias?

Don't know what the media has to do with the atmosphere in the stadium either.

Cheers Bom. I'd be amazed if it gets anywhere near anyone who gives a shit though. I'm not even sure who gives a shit anymore.

Great comment tnb, just hope someone out there gets to see it, although just for the record my last comment was aimed at MikeHammer in response to his post and not the survey or I wouldn't have posted it 😉

Re: Stadium survey
Johnson,

They have so far. But you can rest assured that there are many people already lining up to stick the boot in (taxpayers bla bla, all ignoring the real blame which should lie with Coe etc). If we don't start making this stadium feel like home soon then we will start seeing an awful lot of crowing about getting what we deserved and making a mess of a perceived gift, and, yes, 'be careful what you wish for'.

The vast majority of fans are doing their bit in tbat respect. It is high time for the board to pull their fingers out and do theirs.

Johnson 11:23 Sun Mar 12
Re: Stadium survey
Media bias?

Paranoid much? I think the board have got off incredibly lightly over the whole move bar one or two incompetent error strewn features in the media.
